Any of our available Golden Retrievers will be posted on this page.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, (even if none are available at this time) please fill out our Adoption Application and mail it to us. We work with other Golden Rescues in the area and would be happy to help you find your "forever friend".

Please email us if you are interested in giving one of our dogs their forever home, Thank you!

Golden Retriever Rescue of Central PA, Inc. is rarely without homeless Golden Retrievers who desperately want their "forever homes." Even if there are no photos on this page, we most likely have several in foster care at any given time. However, we only post photos of those Goldens for whom we do not have an approved applicant. We think it is misleading to post photos of those Goldens for whom we already have a new home just waiting for them. Sometimes there is a bit of lag time until a photo is removed from the site after a match is made, but we do not post photos of already adopted dogs. We must have your application in hand and have approved it before we match you with a homeless Golden. You can print out the application from elsewhere on this site. Please complete it and send it and the non-refundable application fee to the P.O. box that is listed on top of the first page of the application.

Alex is a 100lbs, 7 1/2 year-old neutered male with a stubby tail. He knows basic commands and listens well. He loves to romp in the yard and looks forward to his daily walks. He walks well on a leash and gets lots of attention for holding his leash in his mouth. He greets all humans and dogs politely. Alex is very patient with children. When he tires of their attention, he will retire to his bed without complaint. He ignores cats for the most part, and will avoid cranky cats when necessary. He has run of the house and can be trusted he has wonderful manners, but he will sneak a nap on the couch if permitted to do so. Alex has a thyroid problem that warrants medication twice daily. The medication is less than a dollar a day and he gently takes it in a treat. His energy level has drastically improved since taking the medication regularly, and he has slowly been getting in shape and losing a few pounds. However, he does have a carb fettish, so any bread products (or other temptations) left out on countertops may disappear. He is social and does well in most situations with other dogs, but it would be best if he was adopted into a home without other dogs. Alex rarely barks, is good in the car, and is fully housebroken. He is up-to-date on shots and has tested negative for Lyme disease and heartworms
